PUPIL SELF-EVALUATION

With the purpose of assessing the quality of achieved objectives and planning improvements in knowledge.

EVALUATION

After the application of the established criteria, an important part of the process follows - self-evaluation and planning for knowledge improvement. In this step, the group-set goals become individual as each pupil plans goals based on their personal needs and desires for improvement.

ITransitioning from group planning to the individual level, we aim for each pupil to actively contribute to their progress. We assist them with the following questions:

  1. What do I already know?

  2. What is challenging for me? What would I like to further improve or learn?

  3. How will I achieve this? Which approaches or strategies will help me in my learning?

  4. Who will assist me in achieving my goals? Where can I seek help or additional resources?

  5. If necessary, how will I organize my personal learning plan, perhaps even on a daily basis, with defined specific tasks.

Special attention is given to those pupils who encounter difficulties in independent problem-solving or seeking assistance. With struggling pupils, we identify weak areas where they need more learning support. Therefore, we provide them with additional guidance to learn effective problem-solving strategies, setting realistic goals, and finding appropriate help when needed.

Our goal is to create an environment where pupils feel confident and capable of taking responsibility for their learning. Through individual planning, we encourage their autonomy and initiative, thereby contributing to the development of self-effective learning and personal growth.

EXAMPLES

Pupil Self-Evaluation

based on defined goals and/or success criteria.

We can assist pupils with sentence starters:

  • I am good at...
  • I want to learn...
  • I chose this project because...

Peer evaluation can also be included in the assessment, as long as the pupil has the opportunity to demonstrate improved knowledge. Peers should not be involved in grading.

EXAMPLES:

Self-evaluation of solving equations and application, self-assessment of goal achievement at the end of the chapter.

Self-evaluation of knowledge and learning about decimals.
