Webinar Recording: Examples of Formative Assessment with pupils with learning support

In the recording of this webinar, four cases of teachers conducting learning support sessions are presented. Each case includes materials prepared by the teachers themselves, which can assist you in involving students in co-creating self-help programs. The webinar also introduces experiences from Scotland, England, and Finland in addressing and integrating students with specific learning difficulties. Our approaches, progress, and the development of students with specific learning difficulties are showcased.

"We talk a lot about children, very little with children, which is a problem. Children are not included in the process. I realized that we work around them, not with them. We don't involve them. We don't empower them." - Manca Vrhovnik

"Teachers of learning support feel trapped in the system, between the expectations of teachers, parents, and the challenges that the student faces. When I realized that I was becoming a teacher I didn't want to be, I took action. Together with a team of colleagues, I embarked on making changes." - Ajda Hiti

"My goal is for students to understand the learning challenge they are facing, so that they can find successful strategies and help themselves. This way, they'll know it's not their fault and they'll know how to help themselves." - Sarah Hrovat

"If students know what they're aiming for, they can evaluate themselves along the way. The teacher's and parents' evaluations three times a year serve us teachers and parents. However, students need more continuous (self)evaluation to progress." - Ema Barbič
